Students got to visit each kindergarten classroom today while doing festive learning stations with each Kindergarten Teacher. Students used listening skills while playing and learning how to play Bingo with Ms. Crawford. Students investigated a pumpkin with Mrs. Collins while doing a pumpkin science experiment. In Mrs. Marek's class students counted ingredients to make a special Halloween Treat. Students used the SMART Board with Mrs. Williams to make patterns, order by sizes and got to experience using this hands on device.

Names

While learning how to write our names correctly we did an author study about Kevin Henkes beacause so many of his stories are titled a name and have great lessons to learn at this time of Kindergarten.
We watched a video to learn about his life. We read many of his stories and created graphic orginizers to better understand the authors purpose.

Names, Letters and Numbers.... Oh My!

Names, letters and numbers... Oh My!
We are working this week to learn how to write our names with correct formation which means with uppercase at the start followed with lowercases. We will be doing many hands on activities and share information about our unique names. While doing these we are using many books by Kevin Henkes. We hope the students grow to cherish his books and messages learned from books. He is truly a favorite author and we are so happy to showcase him while we learn about names.

Little hands are also quite busy writing numbers while, counting and drawing objects, and writing the letters to spell the words of those numbers.
